You can't control the outside world, but you can choose what you bring into yourself as you travel through your life journey....

Negative News

The young people of today’s world seem to be infatuated with fame. Thousands of teenagers worldwide, and now even pre-teens, dream of Hollywood and Bollywood and all the sensational success it seems to offer. Thousands more people of all ages crave the details of those who live in the elusive world of fame and millions more around the world are obsessed with over-paid sports figures and political figures, who can make life changing decisions with a mere signature and a few spoken words. They study their faces, their words, their lives. They accept their successes and sweep their failures and addictions and life destroying traumas under the carpet. Hungry hearts and minds have been fed with glossy pictures, intimate information and sensational footage. They have been media brainwashed into believing that there is something mesmerizing about these figures that loom larger than life.

But in this totally bombarding global information process we have failed to realize and/or have certainly forgotten that there is definitely something extraordinary about the figures who actually exist in our mundane, day to day life.

The people we cross paths with everyday may never get a Lifetime Achievement Award, an Academy Award, become a Pop Star, a Sports Celebrity, or be elected Prime Minister or President of a country, but they truly are the heroes and heroines in the events that tend to go unnoticed daily - the Kindergarten Teacher who has an infinite amount of patience with her very young students; the Friend who asks how you are and really wants to know; the Checkout Person at the grocery store who constantly greets you with a smile no matter the day, no matter the time; the Mother or Father who works long and hard to ensure that their family receives the best care and can have all the extras; the Child who struggles with their compulsive nature and wins; the Woman who has experienced much pain and hardship in her life but does not become a victim to  it - and the list can go on and on.

These are the figures who are larger than life and these are the figures in life that are large - large in unsung greatness - and we need to notice and appreciate them - as they are the one’s who are truly worthy of the media spotlight.
