Bring the fullness of who you are with you down every road you travel, on to every footprint you create, and you will always move in the direction of more meaning.

Life Is What We Make It

By Beverlee Blampied  (C)

Life is what we make it, they say
Although sometimes negative circumstances step in our way
Tangibles, intangibles, bad attitudes, ill health
Loss of family, loss of job, no companionship, no wealth
Life is often messy, of that there is no doubt
But as we travel down the winding road
We can all leave our mark, set the mode
And help our children learn what life should be about
Simply sit a small child on your knee
And paint  'mind - pictures' for them to see
Tell them that the earth laughs in flowers
And that each flower is as unique as they are
That being happy is just as simple
As reaching out for a shining star
That hope makes a path for miracles to follow
That in anger and envy they never should wallow
That giving a hug or sharing a smile
Will help them down their darkest mile
That love is a secret garden untouched by the winter snow
That laughter brings rays of sunshine
That will make them feel good from head to toe
That dreams can come true if they make them turn real
With hard work and ethics, energy and zeal
That honesty and integrity are by what they'll be measured
That family and friends must always be treasured
And that lastly they must never, ever doubt
That they can change the course of their journey-
For just by being alive they already are altering history
And walking through the mystery - of what life is truly about
